Corelaţii între bronhoscopie şi tomografia computerizată (CT) în stadializarea neoplasmului bronhopulmonar

  • Subiect: The present study analyses the interferences and complementarities of CT scan and bronchoscopy in staging the lung carcinoma. In 2003, 237 cases from “Marius Nasta” Institute of Pneumology were considered, where data from bronchoscopies and CT scans were possible to be combined. After performing initially, a bronchoscopy, the percentage of patients considered as potentially operable was 61%, but it turned out that the number of operable patients dropped to approximately one fourth (26%) after subsequently completing the investigations with a CT scan. The present study proves the necessity of mandatory performance of both investigations for a correct staging of lung cancer, in order to settle an eventual indication for surgery or the oncologic treatment.
