Nume de zugravi vâlceni din a doua jumatate a secolului al XVIII-lea identificate în colecţia de artă veche românească a Muzeului Judeţean "Aurelian Sacerdoţeanu" din Râmnicu Vâlcea şi date despre activitatea lor

  • Subiect: Based on a rich cultural heritage found in the deposits of the Art Museum "Casa Simian" the article presents the work of some painters from Vâlcea in the second half of the eighteenth century. The output from the crowd of the painters of icons is due the presence of the author's signature on the icon from the second half of the eighteenth century and in the nineteenth century. The activity of the painter Dimitrie hieromonk is valued in the collection of the museum by two works: “Canatul stâng al uşilor împărăteşti” and the icon “Iisus Mare Împărat şi Mare Arhiereu”. Other painters noted in the period of our study are Tudor deacon originary from Costeşti with the icon depicting St. Nicholas and Nicolae deacon, whose signature is found in the collection on two icons: “Filoxenia or Ospeţia lui Avram” şi „Sfinţii Gheorghe şi Dimitrie”. Along with the description of the works presented above, it is also mentioned the activity of the painters, activity reported on other papers or documents of that time. The iconography of the period conserves the traditional coordinates, the “Brâncovan” style remains the fundamental mark of the painting of icons, and a revival of the style can be seen due to ingress of popular spirit, especially in the school from Bistriţa.
