Subiect: Painted furniture from southern Transylvania is part of a much wider phenomenon of european craft creation. Peacefully colonized Saxon 's beginning with the 12'" century in southern and central Transylvania had the mast important role in creating and development of painted furniture. Guild organizations from cities and local craftsmen were the mast important manufacturers of furniture for centuries in Transylvania. The oldest pieces of painted furniture were made by the carpenters from rural areas. ln the cities, development of painted furniture was mainly made by joiners.
