This book contains one hundred historical documents — completely or partially reproduced — deposited in foreign archives or libraries and referring all to the istory of the Romanians and of their ancestors. Chronicles, chancellery acts, diplomatic reports, treaties and conventions, letters and cables, all of them pieces of collections beyond Romania’s borders, have already been known, studied and interpreted by historians, but there are among them a considerable number of recently discovered documents, the outcome of the projects mapped out by the State Archives of the Socialist Republic of Romania, aimed at identifying and make generally known the foreign documents connected with the past of the Romanian people.
