Monede antice din colecţia Bibliotecii Sfântului Sinod (secolele II î. Hr. – IV d. Hr.) / Ancient Coins from the collection of the Holy Synode Library (2nd century BC - 4th century AD)

  • Subiect: This article contains a description of 29 ancient coins from a bigger and various coin collection belonging to the Library of the Holy Synod in Bucharest, Romania. The whole collection was acquired in the year 1963 and it was never analysed or published. The group of ancient coins is ordered by issue year and covers the period from 2nd century BC to 4th century AD. The oldest piece is a Thracian type tetradrachm and the newest one is a bronze coin from Constantius II. Almost all coins are in good shape. Therefore, this brief look is addressed to anyone interested in ancient coins as a starting point for further analyses.
