Studiul petrografic al componentelor litice existente în edificiul Băncii Naţionale a României din Bucureşti şi prezentarea intervenţiilor ulterioare de conservare - restaurare a acestui monument arhitectonic

  • Subiect: „The facade of the National Bank building on the Lipscani Street from Bucharest consists mostly of lithic components. Exposed to the external environment of a polluted town, especially in the last about 70 years, the lithic components suffered multiple degradations, with different intensities, which required urgent action to stop the phenomenon and eliminate, where possible, the undesirable effects of decay. First, the authors conducted a petrographic study to identify the lithic components and to establish the degradation processes, the effects and their intensities. The second phase was the development of the intervention project on the building facade, of the reports resulted in maps of degradation and restoration stages, under which, in the third stage, works of conservation - restoration were executed. The basis of this article consists of the results of the first two stages and the description of the restoration of lithic components of the National Bank building, made deliberately in a certain sequence.”
