  • Subiect: An exceptional personality of the Romanian School of Medicine and an important vector of the modernization of Romania, Dr. Carol Davila connected his private life of one of the oldest families of Muntenia through the marriage with the niece of the scholar Dinicu Golescu. His whole work has been channelled to create modern institutions in the service of the Romanian people. His name is related to everything that means the military and civilian medical system in the modern Romanian state. He was also a public figure involved in the great events that founded Romania: Cuza's double election and his reforms, the bringing of the foreign prince in 1866, the war of independence in 1877.
