Premiile CNR ICOM

  • Subiect: Since 1999, the ICOM Romanian National Committee has started to offer awards for the best exhibitions opened in the previous year. The main condition is that of ICOM membership for the museum/museums that made the exhibition or for the author of the exhibition. Considering curatorship as a work of creation, the Award is offered not to the institution, but to the curator who has imagined the exhibition and made all the research for it. The most important criterion taken into consideration is that of the originality of the exhibition. Though being a "young" award, it is, already, prestigious for the Romanian museums. Since its creation, only five curators obtained it: Anca Lăzărescu, Marina Sabados (both, from the National Art Museum of Romania), Dragomir Popovici (from the National Museum of History of Romania), Georgeta Roşu ( from the Romanian Peasant Museum) and Ligia Fulga (from the Braşov Ethnological Museum). Each year, the jury - established by the will of the national ICOM board - has offered one or more special commendations for some other curators.
