  • Subiect: The idea of the genuine water originates in that of the dead water. It perfectly spotlights the mythology and the magic-therapeutic aspects of the water symbolism, as a blessed liquid, while the genuine water is only a magical, practical and current extension of the dead water. The living water and the dead one are nothing but constituents of the same miraculous water, turned into the genuine water and clearly highlighted by it, including the ulterior Christian and pagan influences. The water of death and the water of life may also be studied as shamanist practices both of them being later reduced to the simple using of the genuine water within the pagan and the Christian magic rites.
