Plastica vinčiană de la Gornea

  • Subiect: The work tries to bring some contributions in order to elucidate problems of the plastic of the oldest phase of the Vinca culture. Describing some pieces discovered in the boundary of the Gornea village, point „Căuniţa de Sus”, the author shows that the anthropomorphic plastic contains three big types of feminine figurines: I Figurines with cylindrical body which continued the traditions of the early Neolithic; II Prismatic or flat figurines; III Figurines which are plastically modelled. In connection with the clay figurines, the two categories of altars (little tables of worship) are presented: I triangular altars; II round altars. The zoomorphic plastic from the Vinca A phase is very poor, together with the animal representations arranged on the corners of the altars from the first category, a singular and interesting piece is the head of onager, worked by marble and it represents a southern import. The plastic representations from vases are also rare. Following an evolution from the stylization to a certain realism, the plastic of the Vinca A phase played a genetic part for the plastic from the following phases and even for the Vinca-Turdaş plastic from Transylvania.
