Sărbătoarea Masleniţa la ruşii lipoveni din Dobrogea.

  • Subiect: „Abstract: The ethnic Lippovan Russians, originating from regions such as Moscow, Don, Volga, Kuban, settled on the territory of Dobrudja, starting with the second half of the 18th century, beginning a stable life in the bordering areas of the Danube Delta, but also near the forests of Northern Dobrudja. Once settled in the Dobrudjan area, the Lippovan Russians, also known as Starovers or Orthodox believers of the old rite, managed to cohexist with other ethnic groups, while preserving at the same time thei rlanguage, customs and traditions. One of the holidays of the year celebrated by the Orthodox believers of the old rite, tributaries of the Russian ancestral customs, is Masleniţa/Maslenitza (the Cheese Week or the White Week), which is celebrated in the last week before entering Easter Lent. Masleniţa/Maslenitza marks the end of the frosty winter and the beginning of the spring warm days, being at the same time a celebration of joy and forgiveness, which from a gastronomic point of view stands under the sign of the cuisine based on dairy products and eggs.”
