Mănăstirea cisterciană de la Cârţa. Cercetări arheologice de salvare (2009 Şi 2011)

  • Subiect: The Cistercian Monastery from Cârţa. Archaeological Researches for Preservation (2009 And 2011) The study presents information from the 1981-1985 archaeological excavations from Cârţa Cistercian monastery, archaeological find unpublished till now, the results of archaeological rescue excavations from 2009 and the observations from 2011 mechanic excavation. The systematic archaeological excavations from 1981-1985 uncovered the traces of a stone underground structure, named by the archaeologists Church 1, the first construction of the Cistercian monks. The 1270-1272 coins prove that the late church of the monastery dated from that time. In 2009 the traces of a little rectangular stone construction was found near by, above the traces of a wooden-clay construction. Both were burnt, as the documents about the struggles in the 13th -15th century mentionet.
