Gallienus, l'apogée du déclin ou un nouveau début ?

  • TITLU în română: Gallienus, apogeul şi căderea Imperiului Roman sau un nou început?
  • Subiect: Gallienus, the apogee of the fall of Roman Empire or a new beginning? This article is concerning about the reign of Gallienus (Publius Licinius Egnatius Gallienus Augustus), who ruled the Roman Empire with his father Valerian from 253 to 260 and alone from 260 to 268. He ruled during the Crisis of the Third Century that nearly caused the collapse of the roman world. While he won a number of military victories, he was unable to prevent the secession of important provinces. In our study we discuss about the Gallienus military, administrative and financial policy, about the military orientation of his government and his emperorship and about the Gallienus religious policy. We think that the militay reforms and strategical measures took by this bad emperor (so-called by Historia Augusta) saved the roman empire and prepared it for the important Period of Tetrarhy.
