Subiect: The restoration of archaeological iron
The aim of the present paper is to point out the treatment methods for archaeological iron, a metal with a high oxygen affinity, and their efficiency in time. Generally, we use stabilization methods, store the corrosion products and then we remove the active components. Modern conservation techniques used by restorers protect the shape of the object for a long time and the degradation process is totally stopped.
