Nişa relicvar – element inedit în arhitectura ecleziastică din Ţara Făgăraşului (sec. XV-XVII)

  • Subiect: The reliquary niche – an unique element in the ecclesiastical architecture of Fagaras Country (15th-17th centuries) The archaeological researches of the old stone churches in the historical region of Fagaras Country situated in the middle of Romania, led to relevant information about the dating and the establishing with precision of the main phases of construction of the monuments. The reliquary niche - an unique element in the ecclesiastical architecture of this region was noticed in the village churches in Voivodenii Mari (15th century),Vistea de Jos (16th century) and in the ruins of monastic church in Sinca Noua (17th-18th century). Looking like an opening in the wall and being situated at the base of the wall, the reliquary niche was made during the first stage of the building having a role in the offering of tribute by the founder of the church.
