Mountain Guardians. Prehistoric and Getic Communities and Fortresses Controlling 
the Meridional Carpathians in Northern Oltenia (Romania)

Subiect: In this contribution, there are presented the fortified settlements and fortresses of the Bronze Age, Early Iron Age and Getic time in Northem Oltenia. There are also considered elements that attested the interest of the communities of those times for controlling the commercial routes, the passes of the Meridional Carpathians towards Transylvania, as well as the subsoil resources ( ores and salt).
