Contribuţii la cunoaşterea heraldicii Ţării Româneşti. Primele steme reprezentate în culori

  • Subiect: Pointing out that in the chancelleries of the Romanian Principalities it was also payed attention to the heraldry enamels, the author mentioned the lively debates in the Romanian historiograpy in connection with the cromatics of the first coloured coats of arms. As regards Wallachia, in the works published until now, it is certified that the first coloured coat of arms of the principality known owing to the album of the former mayor of Sibiu, is dated 1616 and has a composition in which the shield was blue, the heraldic bird was black and the cross and the accompanying orbs made of gold. Researching the records of the Wallachian chancellery the author found that the first formal coloured coat of arms in the heading of the princely charter, dated on 9 February 1608 and included a rect shield with a golden eagle with cross (cover I). Also in the chancellery of the Prince Radu Şerban it was insertecl on the heading of the record of the 29 May 1608 a coat of arms with blue shield and a golden eagle (cover IV). This last kind of coat of arms was set as it was met on the headings of several charters issued in the 17th century. Nevertheless, the use of such above mentioned enamels (gold and red) proves the reign particular authority and a plastic allusion to the State independence statute.
