Românii hunedoreni în sprijinul Memorandumului din 1892

Subiect: The author underlines that the „memorand a period" represents a climay of the Remanian people's struggle for political and national rights, a moment of historic significance, the most important one after the 1848 Revolution. The Memorandum stipulated that the Romanian's right should be in accordance with their number and importance in the country's socio-economic life. This paper shows that, besides the orher Romanians, those of the Hunedoara county rised even before 1892 against the authorities attempts to undermine Romanian cultural institutions and especially the Romanian language. The author inserts excerpts from documents of the time and demonstrates that the Romanians of the Hunedoara county considered the Memorandum trial as all the oppressed Romanian's trial, thus as their own.
