Despre rîspîndirea meşteşugurilor la sate în Sălaj în secolul al XIX-lea

  • Subiect: About the Spreading of Crafts in the Sălaj District in the 19th Century During the Middle Ages two centers of crafts were founded in the county Sălaj: Zalău and Şimleul Silvaniei. At the beginning or tile XIXth century the handicrafts are spreading in the villages too. A conscription from 1820 in the former Crasna county enlists 211, and in the district of Cehul Silvaniei from the county of Solnocul de Mijloc 78 craftsmen, especially smiths, wheelwrights, tanners, tailors, and shoemakers. This is completed by the 254 mill owners in the two counties. But the archival and ethnographical researches present many other village crafts. Among these we mention the potters of Deja, the builders of Cristur, and the tamers of Zăuan, Pereceiu and Crasna, the wood carvers from the Mount of Brass and Mount Făget. After 1848 the number of village craftsmen increases, mostly in the centers of districts and market towns, where the different craftsmen are founding craft association. All these data prove the slow spread of capitalist development.
