He gained recognition in literature and in the journalistic and social-cultural activities. He published in „Paloda literară”, the first literary magazine of Bârlad in 1904 „Făt-Frumos”. He made his debut with the volume called Flăcări (1907); the second volume was Poezii and after that Cetatea Soarelui şi alte poeme ( 1910) and an anthological collection of Poezii (1924). Corneliu Moldovanu was a contributor at several prestigious literary magazines: „Viaţa liteară şi artistică” (1907), „Convorbiri literare” (1907-1908), „Junimea literară”, ”Flacăra” (1911-1912), „Luceafărul”, „Sburătorul” (1919). Among the numerous translations from the classical and modern literature there is the poem Cântarea căntărilor, printed in 1908. He also approached other literary genres, without having the possibility to compel recognition to the posterity, with volumes of stories: Venus şi Gioconda, însemnări şi fantezii (1919), Lumina (1914), Neguţătorul de arome (1916), Povestiri (1919); novels: Purgatoriul (1922); literary critique: O privire asupra artei dramatice (1910), Autori şi actori (1920). He also had certain social-cultural functions: general manager of the National Theatre in Bucharest, president of the Writers Society from Romania, professor at the Dramatic Art Conservatory. Corneliu Moldovanu was a consistent supporter of the Great Union in 1918 as a contributor to the political press at the time. The articles were gathered in the volumes Sărbătoarea pîinii (1919), Majestatea morţii (1919). He continued his literary activity in the inter-war and post-war periods. Corneliu Moldovanu died in 1952. His literary and journalistic activity deserves to be reconsidered in order to take its righteous place among the values of the Romanian spirituality of the first half of the 20th century.”
