Regimul politic şi arta

  • Subiect: THE POLITICAL REGIME AND ART The political system of the Romanian in the interwar time was a Parliamentary democracy in form, but it functioned in a way that reflects the social and economic conditions at the time. The control in the Romanian art, started from the main issue of the Romanian politica! life in the interwar time, which is the confrontation between democracy and authoritarianism. From 1948, the politica!, social and cultural life of Romania, followed the Russian model and directives. According to the statements of the communist leaders there was needed a radical change of the social, economica! and cultural basis of society. Thus, although the cultural life of Romania in the interwar time was not rich, it did not escape the Stalinist influence. There can be noticed that the regime of Nicolae Ceauşescu will start with a series of measures that were meant to reestablish the national pride. It is noticeable that, as Nicolae Ceausescu's trying to grow the popularity of his regime, he will use greatly certain fields of art. It was intended to establish a new cultural revolution whose dimensions are given by the millions of people that take part to the cultural life, a revolution that can be defined by the Lenin's words: "The art belongs to the people. Through its deepest roots, it has to get into the masses of the workmen. It has to be understood by the masses, and appreciated by them, to unite the feelings, the thoughts and the will of the masses, to lift them up.
