Descoperiri arheologice la Ampelum

  • Subiect: Archaeological discoveries at Ampelum The author presents a new archaeological discovery that appeared accidentally at Ampelum, the administrative center of the goldmines in the ancient province of Dacia. The discovery consists of a sarcophagus macle of bricks. This type is specific for the great majority of the antique necropolis. The funeral inventory is very poor (human bones and an unidentified coin) so it is probable that the tomb belonged to a Roman colonist from the low classes.
