Salvarea de la demolare şi restaurarea Bisericii Domneşti din Piteşti (1963-1968)

  • Subiect: Saving from Demolition and Restoring the Princely Church of Pitesti (1963-1968) Once the seizure of power through fraud by the "democratic" regim, old urban centres of all cities in Romania are beginning to undergo radical transformations. In Pitesti almost all medieval urban ensemble is demolished, ostinat gesture, one of the largest aesthetic and architectural genocides in the history of the medium cities according to Romania-arch. Eugenia Gamboa After the demolition of the Church of St. Nicholas (olso called as „clock") in 1962, follows the only princely church of Pitesti, St. George, the elder sister, with two years older than the current patriarchal cathedral. She will be saved by the Patriarch Justinian-asked by the Vicar Marin M. Braniste, precious local historic, by the restorers- architects, from D.M.I. (Direction of Historical Monuments) and by several important historians of the time. Follows the switching of the restauration sentence, on the Romanian state money, between 1963-1968.
