Note de lectură IV. Despre Porolissum într-o corespondenţă din secolul al XIX-lea

  • Subiect: MUSEUM NOTES. IV. POROLISSUM IN LETTERS FROM THE 19th CENTURY In some letters of a leader of the Romanian National movement in Transylvania (Ioan Maniu) sent to a great personality of the cultural and scientific life from Transylvania to, in Blaj (the canon Ioan Micu Moldovan) there is some interesting, important and unpublished informations about the Roman settlements from Moigrad (Porolissum) and Buciumi (both in the Salaj County). The letters date back to 1860- 1894. The letters give detailed information about the strategic position of the settlements, about the Roman roads in the neighbourhood, and also about the result of surface discoveries: pottery, stamped tiles, coins, inscriptions even a military diploma from Buciumi. Mention is made also about two important private collections from Sălaj County belonging to vice comes Szikszai Lajos from Zălau and count Dominic Andrassy from the village Gârceiu.
