Cronicile familiale din Transilvania secolelor XVI-XVII. Idei preliminare pentru o nouă abordare a unui gen de frontieră

  • Subiect: Overfulfiling the history of events by enlarging the historic interest also for not so spectacular fields, the family chronicles could be researched not only as simple curiosities or sources of information for social history. These chronicles justify a most serious approach from a historiographical point of view. Formally, these chronicles are written along generations in the same farnily. So they are dealing with family life during a long period of time, like The Raus (1613-1653), Album Oltardianum (1526-1659) or Chronicle About Past Events Of The World (Borsos Sebestyen) and The Memorial of his grandson, Nagy Szabo Ferenc (1550-1653). There are also shorter chronicles like Benckner's (1549-1596) or Drauth's (1638-1683). An almost unusual chronicle is that of Georg Ferdinand von Drauth (1706-1795); three generation are presented here: that of grandparents (the author’s parents and parents-in-law), parents and grandchildren (the author's children). These notes are important also for the impact of pity and mercy upon the human being and to underline the evolution of the interest for the family.
