De la Soţii Arnolfini la soţii Van Rijn – cuplul legitim în drum spre modernitate

  • Subiect: The history of the European painting reflects the evolution of mentalities towards modernity. The changes that mark the family institution and the relations between the members of the conjugal couple are approached through a comparative analysis between two famous paintings, painted approximately two centuries away from each other, but within the same cultural space, that of the Netherlands. "The Arnolfinis" by van Eyck and "Self-portrait with Saskia" by Rembrandt, depict the intimate environment of the family and the way it is transformed in the direction of modernization.
