Din viaţa şi opera pictorului Aurel Nedel

  • Subiect: After his long stay in Bucharest, where he distinguished himself as one of the most prominent painters of Romania, Aurel Nedel (b. 1930) came back to Vaidei (Transylvania), his native village. Here, the artist is carrying on his prodigious activity, painting flowers, still lifes, landscapes, nudes, portraits, figure painting. The stylized forms, simplified at maximum and originally geometrized, are depicted in vivid colours. Through his images, he eulogizes nature, life and life joy. Likewise Traian Brădean, originated from Comlăuş, Arad County, his lifelong friend, Aurel Nedel, suggestively portrays the “soul” of the Romanian village, even if he paints neither peasants nor carts with oxen. Therefore, the pastoral paintings of the two master craftsmen have the same emotional impact on the spectator.
