Redescoperirea unei personalităţi – Marcel Olinescu

  • Subiect: Marcel Olinescu was born in 1896, September 17, at Dorohoi, Botoşani. He died in 1992, February 15. After graduation he worked as calligraphist and drawing teacher at the Brad high school. He began with a personal exhibition at the Romanian Athenee with the painter Dumitru Ghiaţă. The most beautiful exhibition that he had was the Romanian Athenee retrospective since 1977, where he exhibited many woodcuts besides books published since then. The woodcuts are realised on two registers, with lyrics on bottom and folkloric inspired drawings in a stylizing landscape on top. The dynamic and sensitive drawing sends our thought at the religious art.
