Menopauza şi sindromul de ochi uscat

  • Subiect: The paper purpose is to evaluate the ocular symptoms, to assess the impact of menopause over the lipidic layer of the tear film, over the quality of the aqueous layer and over the corneal thickness, in order to establish some correlations between qualitative and quantitative tear film clinical tests. Dry eye is frequent in female population with 10% prevalence in menopausal women group. The diagnosis and treatment of dry eye remains difficult to assess because of lacking of standardized diagnosis criteria and diagnostic tests. The results of this study show that minimal ophthalmological tests are required in menopausal women that had previous positive answers in dry eye symptomatology tests, ophthalmological tests that should include qualitative and quantitative tear film tests.
