Frecvenţa infecţiei cu virusul hepatitei B la personalul medicosanitar din Târgu-Mureş

  • Subiect: Goal: Evaluation of frequency of infection with hepatitis B virus in medical staff from Târgu-Mureş. Method and material: There were tested 379 medical staff and 200 persons from general population for serological markers of infection with hepatitis B virus: antibody anti HBc, antigens HBs. Results: 35,8% from medical staff and 27% from general population presented serious serological evidence of infection with HBV. On activity profile, the staff from surgery and laboratory presented higer positivity (41,7% and 35,8%) and taken by category of personal, nurses were at highet risc (40,4%). The frequency of infection with HBV is proportional higher with professional exposure time, from 21,% at those with professional activity under 1 year, to over 43,8% for those with professional activity of 20 years or more. Conclusion: Prevalence of infection with HBV is higher on medical staff reported to general population. The risk of infection with HBV is growing along with the professional exposure.
