Tara Oltului în constiinta locuitorilor săi

  • Subiect: The material presented refers to some characteristics of how the inhabitants of a certain ethnographic region have their awareness of belonging to that area: the way that they name their region, the recognition of the areas that border it, from where to where stretches the area inhabited by them, the way they divide the area into sub-areas, on the traditional andfolk levei and how they call or not their own name as inhabitants of the area either from within, either their neighbors. The illustration is made on the ethnographic region of Land of Olt, region located in the middle of the territories inhabited by Romanians, alsa known as Land o/Făgăraş. Researchfindings are valid for the period of the second half of the twentieth centwy (1976-1980), but presents methodologicaly, a pattern to be applied nowdays, or in other ethongraphic regions of the country. It starts from the consideration that is important and , in the mean time, interesting to follow this issue for better understanding of what constitutes a the etthnographic region. Therefore following not the intesity, but the frequnecy of the determinative phenomenon used by locals, was prefered the selection of a single informant in the village, bas ed on age and the his profession of farmer.
