Sistemul de apărare antiaeriană în zona Mizilului între anii 1943-1944

  • Subiect: Air defense system in area Mizil between 1943-1944 Thanks to Germany's interest in efficient exploitation of Romanian oil in the area of Mizil, an advanced air defense system was developed in the history of the Second World War. Decision-making bodies of Berlin were informed in general about the political developments in Romania and initiatives aimed to split from the alliance with Germany and out of war. German leadership was convinced further that as long as Marshal Ion Antonescu was in power there was no reason for concern. Consequently, as we shall see in the following the leadership of the Third Reich was caught totally by the events of 23 August 1944, without being able to offer a riposte reflecting the seriousness of political and military situation resulting from Romanian ally fault.
