Despre unele reprezentări antropomorfe masculine din cultura Cucuteni

  • Subiect: We have presented some very interesting male statuettes, discovered at Scânteia and Ruginoasa, with a special sort of decoration, unknown until now in the area of Cucuteni plastic art. First statuette at Scânteia (fig. 1), has a spiral on the chest and a belt on hips, and the other one (fig. 2), has a scarf on the chest and a belt on hips; the piece has been trichrome painted. The pieces discovered at Ruginoasa present unique decorative elements too. The first statuette (fig. 3), present a figure with a rich decoration: a necklace with four bands from which are hanged many beads. The same sort of beads can be observed on the belt from the preserved area.
