Medalii referitoare la Unirea Principatelor din colecţia Muzeului Judeţean de Istorie şi Arheologie Prahova

Subiect: Principalities Unification Medals from the collection of the Archaeology and History Museum in Prahova The Archaeology and History Museum in Prahova owns in his patrimony a valuable and large number of pieces from the age of the Principalities Unification, which represents a synthesis of the main stages regarding this important event of our national history: establishment of the adhoc divans, caimacamie's institution, the achieving Union through the decision of the Elective Assembly in Bucharest on 24 January 1859, the prominent political figures having a very important role in the implementation of the reforms, during the reign of Alexandru Ioan Cuza. In this paperwork, there are emphasized twenty-two pieces having an enormous historical and documentary value related to the 1859 Union. Their rarity is distinguished by the following pieces: Badge of member of the ad-hoc divan of Moldavia (1857) and homage medals for Costache Negri, Mihail Kogălniceanu and Nicolae Kretulescu from Ramnicu-Sarat, Turnu Magurele and Bucharest.
