Importanţa codului lui Calimach (1817) pentru dreptul românesc

  • Subiect: In the history of Moldavia existed an important family called Calimach, which gave a lot of rulers in the 18th and 19th century. One of them, Scarlat Calimach has been the ruler of Moldavia for seven years (1812-1819). He ruled the country with wisdom and kindness, gave special attention to culture and has been a good householder. His main objective was to adapt the administrative and fiscal country systems to the new territorial and demographic terms imposed by the taking of Bessarabia. Under cultural repair, Scarlat Calimach has achieved three important objectives: has compiled the Civil Code of Laws, has established the first society theatre, in Iassy, and sustained for five years in Iassy the class of practical engineering, in romanian, of Gheorghe Asachi. The civil code of laws of Calimach from 1817 has on it's basis every previous laws which applied in the country, as well as the customs of Moldavia in civil and criminal matters. It has three parts: the law of persons, the law of things and a kinship between the two laws. It 's considered a have of the occidental type, founded by the roman law, as well as the natural law. The Calimach Cade has been applied in Moldavia from 1 October 1817 until 1 December 1865, when the civil had been put in order. It had a total of 6 editions, being a very important part for the romanian law.
