  • Subiect: Following the long and prestigious reign of Alexandru the Good, Moldavia faced a period of political instability caused by the reign quarrels among the former leader's descendants. Among these, one notes the confrontation between Bogdan II and Alexăndrel, the son of Iliaş. Since his adversary enjoyed Polish support, Bogdan II accepted to settle a deal with Poland at Lipovăţ, on September 5th, 1450. Content with the truce, Alexăndrel's supporters - the Poles and a group of Moldavians - left the Lipovăţ Valley, withdrawing towards Poland. As the circumstances and surroundings were favourable, Bogdan II attacked and defeated his enemy 's troops at the battle of Crasna, on September 6th, 1450.
