  • Subiect: In the second half of the eighteenth century, the churches "Sfântul Ilie" and "Sfântul Gheorghe" from Bârlad were administered by the furrier 's guild and by a guild called "abăgerilor " Most of the members of these guilds were coming from the south of the Danube, also known under the generic name of "Serbs", mostly Bulgarians, who immigrated especially during the Austrian - Russian - Turkish wars, from the end of the eighteenth century until the beginning of the nineteenth century.
