Denunţuri pe timp de război. Cazul maicii Marina-Mina Hociotă (1916)

  • Subiect: At the beginning of December 1916 the chief of the post in the village of Filioara (Neamţ County) sends a telegram to the Iaşi Police and calls for the pursuit of a nun from the Văratic monastery who would be ... a man and a spy. The Iaşi investigation starts and "the portrait" of the nun is analysed: born in Transylvania, so foreign and potentially a suspect, spent three years in Bulgaria (1911-1914) and learned Slavic language well. Forensic and legal medicine issues are addressed, and the first findings are made: dressing and walking like a man, physical conformation, and "Serious" physical strength. The case is clear, Marina / Mina is neither a man nor a spy. At the base was the revenge of the prefect of Tecuci, angry that Sister Mina rejected his advances. Eventually, the prefect remained in office, and the nun was seconded to a hospital in Iasi.
