Noi rezultate ale utilizării materialelor plastice în restaurarea unor piese metalice

  • Subiect: ew Results in the Use of Plastic Materials for the Restoration of Some Metallic Objects In the introduction the author affirms that the scientific and museographic value of museistic objects is determined by their state, by the way of their restoration and preservation. To assure a lasting duration for the objects, to exclude any mistake in their determination, and mainly to reestablish their shape and aspect as near to the original as possible, the author thinks that any object should be restored and preserved before its registration, its study and publication. Referring to the restoration of metallic objects and, especially, to their completion, the author shows that recently considerable progress has been made by the introduction of some adequate plastic materials, such as epoxy resin, polyester resin, as completing materials, and prevulcanized latex, silicone rubber, as materials for moulds.
