Circulaţia monetară la Apulum

  • Subiect: After a short presentation of the topographical situation and development of the town Apulum, informations about the monetary discoveries in the capital of Dacia Apulensis are presented, underlining the approximate character of the data concerning the monetary discoveries as far as the second half of the 19-th century. The foundation of the Historical, Archaeological and Natural Sciences Society in Alba de Jos district ( Az Alsófehérmegyei Történelmi, Régészeti es Termeszettudomanyi Tarsulat) and later on of The Regional Museum in Alba Iulia, created favourable conditions to preserve the coins discovered during archaeological excavations or accidentally on the territory of the town, so that in 1956, 1154 Roman republican and imperial coins could be registered.
