Contribuţia soţilor Eugenia şi Vasile Neamţu la studierea genezei oraşului şi a curţilor domneşti din Moldova medievală

  • Subiect: The Contribution of the Family Eugenia and Vasile Neamţu to the Study of the Genesis of the Town and the Lordly Courts From The Medieval Moldova The present work displays synthetically Eugenia and Vasile Neamtu couple’s contributions to the study of mediaeval city of Baia as well as other royal residences in Moldavia. Eugenia Neamţu (1930-1980) was a main researcher of the Institute of History and Archaeology in Iaşi (Institutul de istorie şi arheologie din Iaşi) and a member of the Society of Historical Science in Romania (Societatea de ştiinte istorice din România). As an archeologist of the Romanian Middle Age, she took part in the researches of cities such as Suceava, Iaşi, Vaslui, Husi where she studied particularly the royal residences. Vasile Neamţu (1922-2005) was a professor at the Faculty of History, University "Al. I. Cuza" of Iaşi (Facultatea de Istorie, Universitatea "Al. I. Cuza", Iaşi) Both researchers took part in the archeological study of the mediaeval city of Baia, a research materialized in publishing two monographic volumes (Eugenia Neamţu, Vasile Neamţu, Stela Cheptea, The Medieval City of Baia from the 14th to the 17th century (Oraşul medieval Baia în secolele XIV-XVII), vol. I, Archaeological Studies from 1967 to 1976 (Cercetări arheologice din anii 1967-1976), Iaşi, Ed. Junimea, 1980; vol. II Archaeological Studies from 1977 to 1980 (Cercetări arheologice din anii 1977-1980), Iaşi, Ed. Junimea, 1980).
