  • Subiect: Folk Art from Muscel in the Municipal Museum Câmpulung Muscel The ethnography and folk art department is hosted in a building acknowledged to be an architectural monument built in 1735 and it is the oldest civilian construction in Campulung Muscel.The museum is organized thematically having in its structure: rustic interiors typical for Muscel, folk costumes from Muscel which are of a great variety, objects characteristic for the traditional occupations in the countryside, a rich collection of pottery and textiles from this geographical area. Folk art is a constitutive part of ethnology, a component of spiritual folk culture which is considered to be made up of all the artistic decorative actions which, using varied means of expression, give aesthetical value to all cathegories of useful objects created by each person for his own use, but also by some creators, specialized craftstem from the rustic collectivities and craft workshops in fairs, monasteries, landowners and princely courts for the feudal age and by anyone else in our epoch.
