  • Subiect: Shepherds and flocks registered at Poiana Mărului, Braşov county (1850-1855) In shepherds' world transhumance was a necessity. Papers on this subject have many gaps and the documents from archives offer valuable information on shepherds' routes, flocks and animals' number. Sibiu archive contains documents concerning the areas where the flocks were taken, sometimes hundreds of miles away from home. Our paper presents localities of origin, the shepherds' names and the number of animals that passed through custom houses. These localities were: Galeş, Sălişte, Sâmbăta de Sus, Ludişor, Drăguş, Bicaz, Gheorgheni (Translated by Sultana Veronica Avram).
