Lucrări realizate de către Comisia Europeană a Dunării în lungul Dunării maritime. 1856-1939

  • Subiect: Constructions realized by the European Commission of Danube along maritime Danube. 1856-1939 The present study is a component of my PhD research Port-cities under the influence of the European Danube Commission. 1856-1948. The research has, as main objective, the analysis of the spatial and urban development of maritime Danube, as a result of the activities developed by EDC between 1856 and 1948. The main objective of the present study is to present the extensive character of the work done by the European Commission of Danube (ECD) along the bankside of maritime Danube in order to facilitate the navigation and the river commerce. As part of the infrastructure build by ECD in this paper will be presented the fallowing categories of buildings: administrative buildings, housing for the Commission’s employees, port constructions, roads, hydro-technical works, related functions destined to offer a better life quality for the Commissions employee. ECD also created its own infrastructure for the extraction of natural resources in order to obtain building materials.
