Producţia de război a industriei aeronautice române. Braşov (1939-1945)

  • Subiect: The Romanian Aeronautic Industry - I.A.R. Braşov, founded in 1 925, was the most important aeronautic plant which provided military aircraft and aeronautic accessories to Roumania during World War II. This was the reason why the Romanian govemment took over the leadership and all the stock of l.A.R. Braşov in October 1 938. The hight level o f tehnology o f the engine licenses and aircraft manufactured by I.A.R. Braşov required many imports of steel, aluminium and aeronautic accessory. The foreign providers of I.A.R., during World War II were German, Swedish and Swiss companies. The British company, that covered a great part of the needs of the Romanian plant in the fourth decade, ceased the export to Romania begining with 1 940. During the war I.A.R. Braşov had financial and birocratic difficulty in obtaining steel, aluminium or components for engines. The development of the production of I.A.R. needed more skilled workers and technicians. In 1 943 the aeronautic plant had 7286 employees, almost the double as compared to the beginning of Wold War II. It was a constant effort to bring more skilled workers or to qualify them in workshops of the plant in short therm. The result was not the expected one because the percentage of the rejected parts of engines was high. In 1 943 the production of Messerschmitt 1 09G licence. and Daimler-Benz 605 began. They were more complex than the IAR80 plane and and IAR 1 OOOA engine which were produced in 1 940- 1 943 . I.A.R. Braşov had many difficulties in the production of new licenses and the Aeronautic Depatment reduced the number of Messerschmitt planes from 2 1 5 units to 75 units. The limits of the war production of the I.A.R. Braşov were visible in the qualification of the workers and in the masive imports. However for the Romanian industry from the interwar and World War II periods I.A.R. Braşov had an important role in the increasing of the of the technical level.
