Un proiect inedit pentru construcţii de şosele în Ţara Românească în prima jumătate a secolului al XIX-lea

  • Subiect: The authoress presents the map of several roads-to-be planned to be built in Wallachia by mid-19th century. The map is dated June 9th, 1843, and is accompanied by modem solutions in road-building technologies and by the efficient planning of the works. The map was drawn by a Russian officer of German origin, Major Rudolf Arthur baron von Borroczyn, who settled in Wallachia after the Russian-Turkish war (1828-1829). As a topographist engineer, he drew many plans, among which we cite those of the Băneasa estate (1832), of the Brăila town the plan of the Constantin Vodă inn (1834) (the most important one, till the present day), the map of the city of Bucharest.
