Observaţii referitoare la încheierea păcii şi stabilirea hotarului dintre Moldova şi Imperiul Otoman (1486)

  • Subiect: The survey deals with an old and important Ottoman record kept in the Topkapi Sarayi Archives in Istanbul (E-4639) that was published as pertaining to the years 1517-1527. It is speaking about the original report of Mustafa the Cadi of Aidos, relating to his formal mission concerning the setting up of the borders between Moldavia and the town-cities Chilia and Cetatea Albă (Akkerman) which since 1464 were under the Ottoman rule. But both the form and the contents of this report go to the finding that it belongs to the second half of the 15th century. The author of the article places the report in the year 1486 (August-September}. Thus, this report becomes the moldest original report in archives which clearly certifies the existence of the so called ,,capitulations" (ahd-name), given to the Moldavian hospodars by the Ottoman sultans. As well, it is the first original record known which contains concrete references to the border between Moldavia and the Ottoman Empire.
