23 August 1944 - moment decisiv în năruirea sistemului militar hitlerist în Balcani

  • Subiect: On the basis of known and unknown documents the author proves the importance of Romania's decision to leave the anti-Soviet coalition and influence of the act from the 23 rd of August 1944 on the events in South-Eastern Europe: the junction of the Soviet troops after only 13 days (on the 6 th of September 1944) with the Yugoslav liberation army; the popular insurrection in Bulgaria which changed the monarcho-fascist regime: in Greece the leadership was taken over by the national liberation army; in Albania the guerilla movement was dominating the situation; Turkey declared the war to Fascist Germany. The author points out the role played by Romania in the Balkans in the contemporary epoch together with the other countries from South-eastern Europe in defeating fascism and building up a better world.
