Arhitectura maur-florentină şi confluenţa Orient-Occident în Bucureştiul interbelic

  • Subiect: In order to understand the Moorish-Florentine architecture of interwar Bucharest, some preconceived ideas arise that link their unusual appearance with some foreign architects or builders (Jewish or Italian). Interwar Bucharest was a multicultural city. This was the atmosphere that made all kinds of architectural experiments possibile but not its direct source. In fact, the nostalgia of the old garden city, the unexplored possibilities of the Romanian style, reunited with a new perspective on architecture due to tourism and the fierce competition between architects are those that will give rise to these picturesque variations that can hardly be contained in a style. These variations fluctuate between Venetian, Florentine, Moorish, Romanian, Art Deco and eclectic influences, always experimenting beyond the limits of the national style and beyond the modern austerity of the Art Deco style.
