O nouă figlina privată din Dacia romană/A new private figlina from Roman Dacia

  • Subiect: The authors analyse a number of six stamps with the inscription VAL CAT (---) printed on ceramic construction material. Based on the analysis of the pieces discovered until today, it results that their distribution includes only the territory of Napoca. Chronologically, the pieces were discovered in archaeological contexts dating to the end of the 2nd century – 3rd century. Although civilian manufacturers are also known for the ceramic building materials used by the army, the range of this type of stamp shows that it was a local manufacturer who probably had a workshop around Napoca as well as other local figlinae from Dacia.
